Community Relations Specialist (Energy)

Location: Waltham, Massachusetts, United States; hybrid schedule with at least three office days per week, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Must be available to work up to five days in the office when required and travel between Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire.

Salary: $97,990–$108,880 annually, plus potential incentive.

What you will do

• Develop community and municipal outreach strategies and maintain relationships with government officials, businesses, nonprofits, and civic organizations.
• Coordinate communications related to utility project siting, permitting, construction, maintenance, reliability, and vegetation management.
• Support municipal briefings, public hearings, town and city council meetings, and other public or political forums.
• Monitor local government policies, elections, ordinances, and council activities, and communicate relevant developments internally.
• Identify corporate giving opportunities, evaluate grant proposals, and recommend awards that support community development and company priorities.
• Maintain and implement Community Liaison Plans supporting emergency preparedness and response.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public or Government Administration, a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Three to five years of experience in community/customer care or government relations; five years preferred.
• Experience preparing and delivering presentations, reports, and communications to internal and external audiences.
• Knowledge of municipal, state, and regional government, regulatory processes, utility business, energy supply issues, crisis communication, and media relations.
• Valid motor vehicle license required.
• Visa sponsorship is not available; applicants requiring immigration-related sponsorship to start employment will not be considered.
