Director - Communications

Location: Remote within the United States; listed locations are Pittsburgh, PA and Glenview, IL

Salary: $139,693–$244,463 annually

What you will do

• Lead the commercial communications strategy and operating plan across business units, functions, and channels.
• Build market awareness and thought leadership through integrated campaigns, executive visibility, trade media relations, influencer engagement, and speaking opportunities.
• Develop differentiated messaging and communication programs for products, services, solutions, strategic initiatives, and market opportunities.
• Equip commercial teams with value propositions, proof points, tools, and customer-facing stories.
• Advise leaders on business priorities, organizational change, issues, and reputation risks.
• Lead, coach, and develop the Commercial Communications team while managing resources, external partners, and performance measurement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, English, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressively increasing communications leadership experience.
• Experience leading enterprise communication strategies in complex, matrixed organizations.
• Experience advising senior executives and managing high-impact communication initiatives.
• Experience leading teams, developing communication capabilities, and supporting organizational transformation.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills; ability to travel 0%–25%.
