Senior Front-End Engineer Drupal

Location: Based in eligible jurisdictions in the United States or London; the position is listed in Charlottesville.

Salary: $85,000–$120,000 per year, plus eligibility for an annual incentive bonus.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, maintain, and enhance Drupal applications, including custom themes, modules, components, and integrations.
• Build responsive, accessible, and high-performing digital experiences with Drupal, Twig, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Translate business, product, and UX requirements into scalable solutions aligned with architecture, security, accessibility, and performance standards.
• Support Drupal site building, configuration management, content modeling, RESTful API integrations, and web services.
• Manage version control, testing, deployments, maintenance, releases, troubleshooting, and production support across environments.
• Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions, mentor developers, document solutions, and escalate technical risks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent education and relevant experience.
• At least five years of web application development experience, including at least three years of hands-on Drupal development.
• Strong proficiency in PHP, Drupal APIs, Drupal core and contributed modules, and custom module development.
• Experience creating Drupal themes and components with Twig, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Experience with Drupal site building, configuration management, content modeling, RESTful APIs, web services, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployments.
• Fluency in English is required. Strong communication, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and agile software development lifecycle experience are also required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Acquia, Pantheon, AWS, or Azure.
• Familiarity with Docker, DDEV, or Lando.
• Experience with Coveo Search or similar enterprise search technology.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools.
