Senior DFIR Consultant - Engagement Lead (Cybersecurity)

Location: Remote within the United States; up to 5% business travel and 24/7 on-call incident response may be required.

Salary: $100,200–$164,100 per year, plus eligibility for a 15% short-term incentive bonus.

What you will do

• Lead digital forensics and incident response engagements for external clients during active cybersecurity incidents.
• Investigate compromised systems, networks, and cloud environments, including malware, ransomware, business email compromise, insider threat, and advanced persistent threat cases.
• Provide remote containment, evidence preservation, recovery guidance, and incident impact assessments.
• Brief C-level executives, IT leaders, legal counsel, insurers, law enforcement, and other stakeholders; translate technical findings into actionable recommendations.
• Develop scopes of work and cost estimates, manage engagement quality, timelines, budgets, documentation, and billing.
• Mentor junior consultants and support business development, client presentations, proposals, thought leadership, and professional research.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of cybersecurity experience, or an approved alternative involving a Zurich Cybersecurity Technician Apprenticeship and 6+ years of experience, or a high school diploma/equivalent and 7+ years of experience.
• Advanced proficiency in digital forensics and incident response, Windows/Linux forensics, forensic tools, ransomware and business email compromise investigations, report writing, and executive communication.
• Intermediate proficiency in threat intelligence and malware analysis, network forensics and log analysis, cloud security across Azure/AWS/M365, and project management.
• Experience communicating with clients and stakeholders during complex crisis situations, including C-level executives, legal counsel, insurance partners, and law enforcement.
• Must be able to work remotely within the United States; employment sponsorship is not offered.
