Associate Field Service Tech

Location: San Diego, California, United States; reports to the San Diego Service Center. Travel up to 75% domestically and occasionally internationally.

Salary: $30.24–$37.80 per hour.

What you will do

• Install, commission, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engines, electrical controls, roll-up doors, cranes, elevators, and davits.
• Perform scheduled and emergency service with a focus on first-time fixes and equipment restoration.
• Read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals and maintain accurate service documentation.
• Communicate service updates and timelines to customers, internal teams, and leadership.
• Plan and prioritize field work, complete service and expense reports, and support shop assembly, inspections, and testing.
• Follow PPE and safety procedures, complete required training, and maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Associate degree in a technical field plus 4 years of relevant or military experience, or 4+ years of military or industry experience with similar equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting ability, and ability to read diagrams and blueprints.
• Experience or foundational knowledge in hydraulics, pneumatics, PLCs, and electronic controls; proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• U.S. citizenship is required to meet NOFORN requirements.
• Valid driver’s license, eligibility for a company credit card, and a valid U.S. passport or ability to obtain one within 3 months.

Nice to have

• Experience with diesel or gas engine systems and testing equipment.
• Understanding of gas compression systems and related safety considerations.
