Product Design Intern (2027)

Location: Based in Figma's San Francisco or New York hub office; in-person onboarding required

Salary: $46 per hour, plus a housing stipend and travel reimbursement

Figma develops a collaborative design platform for brainstorming, prototyping, translating designs into code, and iterating with AI.

What you will do

• Own the design of impactful product features from ideation through execution and shipment.
• Collaborate with product, research, marketing, design, and other functions to identify user and business needs.
• Work closely with Engineering to support high-quality implementation.
• Create user flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals.
• Participate in weekly design critiques.

Requirements

• Baseline skills in visual design and/or interaction design.
• Experience shipping projects with strong product strategy and visual design.
• Ability to express ideas through prototyping and code.
• Eagerness to learn and demonstrated self-starting initiative.
• Availability to work from the San Francisco or New York hub office, with in-person onboarding.

Nice to have

• Interest in design tools and design systems.
• Interest or aptitude in systems thinking and information architecture.
• Knowledge of the building blocks of a design tool or similar creative tools.
