Software Engineer III, Developer Platform

Location: Raleigh, North Carolina, United States

Base salary: $128,000–$192,000 per year, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Own the implementation of significant developer platform capabilities.
• Design and develop cloud-native, self-service infrastructure supporting the software development lifecycle for more than 600 developers.
• Build capabilities using open-source technologies such as Kubernetes, VSCode, Backstage, and Terraform, alongside AI solutions.
• Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to deliver platform objectives.
• Drive high-quality implementation, code health, monitoring, frequent releases, and reliable CI.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of experience developing and maintaining reliable, scalable, and secure production products or services.
• Professional experience with Go, Python, TypeScript, or similar programming languages.
• Experience with cloud technologies, GitHub Actions, VSCode, Kubernetes, Backstage, or related tools.
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and system design, with analytical and debugging skills.
• Qualified applicants must not require employer-sponsored work authorization in the United States now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform and Kubernetes.
• Experience building solutions with large language models.
• Knowledge of microservices, software delivery platforms, DevSecOps, continuous integration, and release management.
• Experience working on a centralized developer platform team.
• Strong interest in developer experience and empathy for platform users.
