Medical Director, Rheumatologist

Location: Home-based in the United States; requires 30% periodic regional and international travel.

Salary: $154,900–$431,500 annual base pay.

What you will do

• Serve as a medical monitor at the global or regional level for assigned clinical trials in rheumatologic disorders.
• Advise project leaders and internal stakeholders on medical and scientific aspects of clinical research projects.
• Provide medical support on patient eligibility, adverse-event management, patient disposition, and other protocol-related issues.
• Deliver rheumatology training, attend investigator and kick-off meetings, and present at investigator and bid defense meetings.
• Review and clarify trial-related adverse events and respond to urgent protocol issues at investigative sites.
• Contribute to medically related proposal content, budgets, protocol feasibility reviews, and target site and investigator profiles.

Requirements

• Medical degree from an accredited and internationally recognized medical school.
• Board certification or eligibility in Rheumatology.
• Typically 3–5 years of relevant experience in rheumatology or a related medical specialty.
• Previous clinical research experience as an investigator or in the pharmaceutical, CRO, or biotech industry.
• Strong communication, presentation, consultation, and interpersonal skills.
• Good command of spoken and written English and availability for intermittent domestic and international travel.
