Director, Clinical Development (MD) (Neurology)

Location: Foster City, California, United States

Salary: $261,375–$338,250 annually for the Bay Area; other US locations: $237,575–$307,450 annually.

What you will do

• Provide clinical oversight and medical monitoring for clinical trials in neurology and autoimmune disease.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of early-phase and proof-of-concept studies.
• Draft and review protocols, investigator brochures, study reports, informed consent forms, safety narratives, and related documents.
• Identify study risks, propose mitigations, and support milestone, deliverable, budget, and clinical development planning.
• Engage with investigators, key opinion leaders, patient advocacy organizations, and external experts.
• Partner with Regulatory Affairs, Safety, Clinical Operations, Biometrics, Translational Sciences, Medical Writing, Medical Affairs, and Commercial functions.

Requirements

• MD or DO required.
• Approximately 2–5 years of clinical, scientific, and/or drug development experience.
• Working knowledge of clinical trial design, protocol development, safety review, and Good Clinical Practice.
• Ability to work effectively in a matrixed, cross-functional environment.
• Board certification or eligibility in Neurology and expertise in neurology, neuroimmunology, or autoimmune neurologic disease are preferred.
• Availability to travel up to 25%.

Nice to have

• Drug development experience in neurology, autoimmune disease, cell therapy, immunology, or advanced therapeutics.
• Experience with Phase 1, Phase 1b/2, proof-of-concept, or first-in-human studies.
• Experience contributing to study design, study conduct, and emerging data interpretation.
• Strong clinical judgment, scientific rigor, communication, and problem-solving skills.
