Senior Backend Engineer/MLOps

Location: Remote in Latin America

What you will do

• Build and maintain full-stack marketplace features for search, ranking, matching, and user-facing experiences.
• Develop and support MLOps infrastructure, including model deployment pipelines, feature stores, real-time data pipelines, and monitoring.
• Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to bring machine learning models into production reliably and at scale.
• Write tested, maintainable code, participate in code reviews, and contribute to technical planning.
• Identify and resolve performance, reliability, and scalability issues across existing systems.
• Work with SQL, data pipelines, feature pipelines, and experimentation frameworks while communicating progress with distributed teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong backend or full-stack development experience.
• Strong backend development skills in at least one of Go, Python, Ruby, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience with MLOps or production machine learning systems, including Vertex AI, MLflow, Kubeflow, or equivalent tools.
• Experience with feature stores, strong SQL skills, and data or feature pipelines.
• Experience with GCP, AWS, or Azure; GCP is preferred.
• Understanding of machine learning concepts and model deployment, plus strong debugging, ownership, and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with search, ranking, recommendation systems, real-time systems, or performance and latency optimization.
• Experience with online marketplaces, mentoring engineers, frontend development, A/B testing, or AI-assisted development tools.
