Process Development Associate Scientist (Biotechnology)

Salary: $90,442.55–$122,363.45 annually

What you will do

• Plan, design, execute, and document formulation and process development studies for late-stage biologics.
• Support drug product commercialization and lifecycle management in collaboration with engineers and scientists.
• Conduct laboratory studies involving ultrafiltration/diafiltration, filtration, freeze-thaw, and stability.
• Evaluate product and process performance using analytical testing, including chromatography, particle analysis, and moisture content testing.
• Build data and analytics solutions, automate data structuring, analyze datasets, and create visualizations using tools such as Spotfire and Smartsheet.
• Author and review technical protocols and reports, and communicate study designs and results in team meetings.

Requirements

• Master’s degree and 1 year of scientific experience, or bachelor’s degree and 3 years of scientific experience.
• Degree in chemical engineering, biomedical engineering, biochemistry, biotechnology, pharmaceutics, or a related field.
• Experience or knowledge in pharmaceutical or biotechnology process development, formulation development, process characterization, equipment implementation, or technology transfer.
• Knowledge of drug product unit operations and relevant analytical techniques, including SEC, CEX, HIAC, or MFI.
• Proficiency in at least one statistical software package such as SAS, JMP, or Minitab, plus programming or database experience with Python, R, MATLAB, or SQL.
• Strong problem-solving, research, communication, organizational, and record-keeping skills.

Nice to have

• Understanding of protein physical and chemical stability and the impact of process-related stresses on product quality.
• Familiarity with antibody-drug conjugates.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Spotfire, or D3.
