Director, Revenue Accounting

Location: Denver, Colorado, USA

Compensation: $140,000–$180,000 base salary plus variable bonus per year

What you will do

• Lead global revenue accounting, technical revenue accounting, and accounts receivable teams.
• Oversee monthly and quarterly revenue close, including revenue recognition, deferred revenue, journal entries, reconciliations, reporting, and variance analysis.
• Direct technical accounting reviews of complex contracts, non-standard transactions, and new product offerings under ASC 606.
• Oversee collections, cash application, aging analysis, credit loss reserves, and customer account issue resolution.
• Partner with Sales, Deal Desk, Product, Legal, Finance Systems, and other stakeholders on new offerings and commercial arrangements.
• Own revenue and accounts receivable processes, systems, internal controls, audit support, and team development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including significant revenue recognition responsibility in a software or technology environment.
• Strong knowledge of ASC 606 and experience with SaaS, term license, support, services, usage-based, and other complex arrangements.
• Experience leading multiple accounting teams or functions, including managers and individual contributors.
• Experience overseeing accounts receivable, collections, aging, credit loss assessments, revenue close, processes, controls, and audit documentation.
• CPA or equivalent professional accounting certification.

Nice to have

• Experience with NetSuite ARM and Salesforce.
• Experience supporting a public company, IPO-readiness program, or SOX-compliant control environment.
• Experience with acquisitions, system implementations, multinational operations, and complex global customer arrangements.
