TL;DR
Senior Java Developer (AWS) (Microservices/Retail): Building cloud-native, distributed services and REST APIs for a retail client project with an accent on Java, Spring Boot, AWS, and event-driven architecture. Focus on designing microservices, integrating Kafka-based event flows, and supporting CI/CD delivery across distributed systems.

Location: Remote from Lima, Bogota, Medellin, Mexico City, Buenos Aires, São Paulo, San Jose, or Santiago

Salary: $4,100–$4,700 USD per month

Work on a client project in the retail industry through MPS Group.

What you will do

  • Develop Java-based microservices and cloud-native applications.
  • Design and implement REST APIs with Spring Boot.
  • Build and maintain distributed systems using AWS services.
  • Work with event-driven architecture using Kafka or similar technologies.
  • Contribute to CI/CD and DevOps delivery practices.
  • Collaborate in a client-facing consulting environment.

Requirements

  • Strong professional experience with Java development.
  • Expertise in microservices architecture, Spring Boot, and REST API development.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS, including services such as EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, or CloudWatch.
  • Experience with distributed systems and cloud-native applications.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent verbal and written English communication skills.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience in an Agile delivery environment.
  • Consulting or client-facing experience.
