Senior Lead, Operational Risk, Third Party Risk Management (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid role in Scottsdale, San Francisco, Chicago, New York, Phoenix, or Washington, DC; candidates must be eligible to work in the United States for any employer. Employment visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $129,000–$161,000 per year in Phoenix, Chicago, or Washington, DC; $154,000–$193,000 per year in New York or San Francisco. Additional discretionary incentive compensation and benefits may apply.

What you will do

• Lead and oversee the Third-Party Risk Management program across onboarding, risk assessments, ongoing monitoring, due diligence, control testing, and policy updates.
• Manage multiple portfolios and lead a high-performing team delivering third-party risk management objectives.
• Evaluate policies, procedures, processes, and internal controls, and drive improvements aligned with risk appetite, regulatory guidance, and industry frameworks.
• Partner with Procurement, Legal, Security, Compliance, Privacy, Technology, and business functions to assess and mitigate third-party risks.
• Develop key performance and risk indicator reporting, training plans, communication plans, process maps, and enterprise risk management projects.
• Identify and implement innovative approaches to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of third-party risk management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience, with 10+ years of direct or related third-party risk management experience.
• 5+ years of experience in a financial institution’s third-party risk management function and knowledge of third-party contractual arrangements.
• Experience leading high-performing teams and developing scalable processes with strong attention to detail and results orientation.
• Experience in operational risk, data protection risk, information security risk, or another risk management discipline, including knowledge of third-party regulatory requirements.
• Broad banking knowledge and familiarity with security approaches supporting operational processes.
• U.S. work authorization for any employer is required; visa sponsorship is unavailable. Background and drug screening are required.

Nice to have

• Third-party risk certifications such as CRVM or CTPRP.
• Project or process management experience.
• Information security certifications such as CISM, CISSP, or CISA.
• Experience with enterprise GRC tools, automation, ISO, GLBA, FFIEC, NIST, or Shared Assessments SIG processes.
