Space Acquisition PEM Support Analyst (Space Defense)

Location: On-site at the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia; minimal travel of 0–20% within the National Capital Region.

Salary: $170,000K–$185,000K annually in Virginia.

What you will do

• Support the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Space Acquisition and Integration in overseeing Missile Warning & Tracking and Next Gen OPIR programs.
• Evaluate programs approaching acquisition milestones, technical interchange meetings, and major decision points.
• Formulate, defend, and track Program Element budgets, POM submissions, Justification Books, Congressional Staffer Briefings, and related appeals.
• Develop integrated baselines covering architecture, performance, utility, costs, milestones, requirements, and capabilities.
• Coordinate integration across space vehicles, sensor payloads, ground processing architectures, auxiliary sensors, and non-space capabilities.
• Prepare executive point papers, background briefs, talking points, decision packages, and portfolio assessments for senior leaders and Congress.

Requirements

• Active Top Secret security clearance with current SCI eligibility.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, space operations, physics, business, finance, or a related technical or analytical field.
• At least 7 years of experience in space operations, national security space acquisition, or related defense space programs.
• Direct experience working within a military service headquarters staff, such as SAF/SQ, HQ USSF, Air Staff, OSD, or Joint Staff.
• Thorough knowledge of defense and national security space architectures, acquisition strategies, JCIDS requirements generation, DoD 5000 processes, Middle Tier of Acquisition, and PPBE.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex technical and program data into executive narratives.

Nice to have

• Experience with Missile Warning, Missile Tracking, Missile Defense, SBIRS, Next Gen OPIR, Resilient MW/MT, or Tracking Layer architectures.
• Familiarity with Space Systems Command and its MWG, MWP, S9, and S10 organizations.
• Experience preparing POM builds and Space Program Element budget documentation.
• Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace, National Security Studies, or an MBA.
• DAWIA or defense acquisition credentials in Program Management, Engineering, or Financial Management.
