QHSE Engineer (Nuclear)

What you will do

• Support the implementation and maintenance of Quality Management Systems across nuclear project activities.
• Conduct audits, inspections, compliance assessments, safety observations, and investigations.
• Support risk assessments, method statements, safe systems of work, emergency preparedness, and incident follow-up.
• Monitor environmental compliance, environmental risks, waste management, pollution prevention, and sustainability activities.
• Prepare QHSE reports, dashboards, performance metrics, trend analyses, and improvement recommendations.
• Work with operational teams, project managers, suppliers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to improve compliance and safety culture.

Requirements

• Degree in Engineering, Quality, Health and Safety, Environmental Management, or a related discipline; a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent military experience is required.
• Previous QHSE, Quality, HSE, or Assurance experience in a regulated industry.
• Knowledge of Quality Management Systems and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Understanding of UK health and safety legislation, with experience in audits, inspections, and investigations.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, report writing, data analysis, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.
• The role is based in Bridgwater, United Kingdom, and may require Security Clearance and completion of Baseline Personnel Security Standard checks.

Nice to have

• Experience in nuclear, energy, construction, infrastructure, defence, or engineering sectors.
• Internal or Lead Auditor qualification.
• NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.
• Experience on large-scale infrastructure projects.
