Payroll Supervisor/Manager

Salary: £45,000–£48,000 per annum

What you will do

• Manage the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely payments.
• Lead, support, and develop the payroll team while monitoring workloads and performance.
• Coordinate with HR on starters, leavers, absences, pay changes, and employee data.
• Maintain payroll policies, procedures, systems, and controls.
• Provide guidance on payroll legislation, PAYE, pensions, statutory payments, deductions, and benefits.
• Prepare reconciliations, reporting, and analysis, and liaise with employees, HMRC, auditors, and external stakeholders.

Requirements

• Previous experience managing or supervising a payroll team.
• Strong knowledge of PAYE, NIC, statutory payments, pensions, benefits, and year-end processes.
• Experience working in a fast-paced payroll environment.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong payroll systems knowledge.
• Excellent communication, organisation, stakeholder management, and deadline-management skills.
• Proactive approach to continuous improvement and problem-solving.
