TL;DR
L1 Support Engineer (Platform & Cloud) (telephony/Linux): Handling first-line support for production communication platforms, diagnosing partner issues through tickets, calls, logs, and configuration guidance with an accent on Linux, networking, and telephony troubleshooting. Focus on qualifying incidents, solving configuration and connectivity problems, documenting recurring issues, and escalating complex cases with complete technical context.

Location: Sophia-Antipolis, near Nice, France; hybrid work with up to two days per week from home after onboarding and autonomous operation.

Salary: €32,000–€36,000 gross per year, depending on experience, plus additional remuneration for on-call work.

What you will do

  • Provide first-line support through the hotline, Jira tickets, Teams channels, and direct partner communication.
  • Qualify incoming incidents, assess urgency, investigate configurations and logs, and identify the cause of platform issues.
  • Guide SaaS partners through configuration and platform troubleshooting.
  • Prepare complete escalations for L2 when issues exceed L1 scope and follow them through resolution.
  • Document solutions and recurring issues in the knowledge base.
  • Join the L1 on-call rotation after becoming ready with the team lead.

Requirements

  • French required for daily work; confident spoken and written English required for partner calls and ticket updates.
  • Practical experience with Linux or Unix, including terminal-based troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of networking and interest in diagnosing systems and production incidents.
  • Curiosity, independence, and the ability to investigate problems without a predefined script.
  • Comfort with phone-based support and calmly guiding stressed engineers through technical issues.
  • Ability to work from the Sophia-Antipolis office, with home working available up to two days per week after onboarding.

Nice to have

  • Rocky Linux or other RHEL-family Linux experience beyond the basics.
  • Experience with SIP, RTP, VoIP, Asterisk, Wireshark, or one-way audio troubleshooting.
  • Scripting experience in any language.
  • German, Dutch, or Spanish.
