AS400 Developer/Admin (IBM i)

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, United States; hybrid and must be local

hirify.global is engaging a contractor to support a State of Oklahoma government agency's core IBM AS/400 environment.

What you will do

• Maintain, modify, optimize, and troubleshoot legacy applications written in RPG, RPG III, RPG IV/ILE RPG, RPGLE, and CL.
• Manage IBM i work management, job queues, active subsystems, application schedulers, and application-level security.
• Query and tune DB2 for i databases, including SQL queries and indexes.
• Coordinate with the hosted-environment provider on maintenance, OS patching, database utilities, storage, backups, and disaster recovery testing.
• Support secure FTP/SFTP automation and integrations with state, regional, and partner systems.
• Document system flows, database schemas, and dependencies to support migration of legacy logic to cloud systems.

Requirements

• Must be local to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and able to work in a hybrid arrangement.
• US citizen or green card holder only; other visas are not considered.
• At least 5 years of hands-on AS400/IBM i/iSeries application development and support experience.
• Strong proficiency in RPG IV/ILE RPG, RPGLE, CL, SQL, and DB2 for i.
• Experience with hosted or managed AS400 environments, user profiles, object-level authority, audit logs, and subsystem coordination.
• Experience with FTP/SFTP automation, external integrations, and production troubleshooting.
