AS400 Developer/Administrator (IBM i)

What you will do

• Maintain, modify, optimize, and troubleshoot legacy applications written in RPG, RPG III, RPG IV/ILE RPG, RPGLE, and CL.
• Coordinate with the hosted AS400 provider on maintenance, operating system patches, database utilities, and environmental changes.
• Manage IBM i application security, user profiles, object authorities, audit logs, job queues, subsystems, and application schedulers.
• Query and tune DB2 for i databases, including SQL queries and indexes.
• Support automated FTP/SFTP integrations with state, regional, and partner systems.
• Extract, clean, archive, and document legacy data and system dependencies to support migration to cloud systems.

Requirements

• At least five years of hands-on AS400, IBM i, or iSeries application development and support experience.
• Exceptional proficiency in RPG IV/ILE RPG, RPGLE, CL, and SQL on DB2 for i.
• Experience working in a hosted or managed AS400 environment with external hosting providers.
• Experience with IBM i work management, subsystem coordination, application security, and user profile management.
• Strong background in automated FTP and SFTP file transfers.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting legacy-to-cloud migrations or data warehouse extraction.
• Familiarity with Rational Developer for i (RDi).
• Public sector or insurance regulatory systems experience.
