Senior Research Scientist - In-Vitro Neuroscience

Location: New Haven, Connecticut headquarters; remote and hybrid options are listed, but the role requires regular hands-on laboratory work.

What you will do

• Design and implement in vitro pharmacology readouts using cellular biochemical, functional, and image-based endpoints.
• Develop assays using ELISA/MSD, quantitative Western blotting, high-content imaging, and bioluminescence-based formats.
• Provide technical and scientific leadership for immunohistochemical endpoints in CNS and other tissues.
• Contribute to a high-content imaging working group focused on robust assay design and best practices.
• Generate and communicate data supporting program decisions, including results for project teams and senior leadership.
• Partner with automated biology teams to identify and transfer automation-ready assay strategies.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience as an assay designer and hands-on cell biologist in a fast-paced drug discovery environment.
• Experience with cellular and molecular biology, pharmacology, biochemistry, assay development, imaging, and biomolecular screening.
• Ability to troubleshoot biological assay systems systematically and maintain rigorous data analysis and quality-control standards.
• B.S. or M.S. with 12+ years of relevant experience, or Ph.D. with 2–5 years of relevant experience.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
• Must be able to perform regular laboratory work around biological, infectious, and hazardous materials and use required PPE.

• Neuroscience experience in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology environment.
