Assistant Director, Reinsurance Accounting (Insurance)

Location: CT-Wilton, United States; primarily in the office

Salary: $162,000–$203,000 for positions based in New York; $158,000–$198,000 for positions based in New Jersey, plus bonus eligibility.

What you will do

• Lead financial and operational accounting for SEC reinsurance reporting and reinsurance disclosures.
• Deliver Schedule F regulatory reporting and financial statement disclosures for hirify.global’s U.S. insurance companies.
• Manage collateral requirements and reporting for third-party reinsurers, including shortfall analysis and year-end reporting implications.
• Own global internal reinsurance intercompany general ledger accounts and resolve issues during monthly and quarterly close processes.
• Coordinate with Capital Management, Collections, Legal, Treasury, Finance Operations, Actuarial, and Controllership teams.
• Support internal and external audits while leading a team and an offshore operating platform.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA preferred.
• At least 8 years of relevant professional experience, including team leadership in a controller capacity for a public property and casualty insurance company.
• Advanced knowledge of reinsurance operations, insurance accounting, underwriting, claims, finance, controls, and related systems.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. statutory reinsurance reporting requirements, including Schedule F and balance sheet and income statement relationships.
• Experience managing onshore and offshore resources globally and working across Finance and operational disciplines.
• Strong communication, analytical, systems, attention-to-detail, and process-improvement skills.

• Reinsurance or insurance designation such as ARe or CPCU.
