Accountant Lead

Location: Parsippany, New Jersey, United States; hybrid

Salary: $126,300–$135,000 per year

What you will do

• Maintain the general ledger, reconcile accounts, manage accruals, and record, reconcile, and forecast prepaid activity for three companies.
• Manage copier lease agreements, including vendor coordination, renewals, installations, pickups, and billing issue resolution.
• Reconcile, analyze, and forecast lease accounting activities in compliance with ASC 842 and corporate policies.
• Perform actual-versus-budget analysis, forecasting, monthly submissions, annual true-ups, and budget support.
• Prepare tax-related packages, support audits and internal reporting, and assist with flux analysis and DCAA submissions.
• Conduct semi-annual Sarbanes-Oxley self-assessment testing, including walkthroughs, control design evaluations, and operating effectiveness testing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of accounting experience, including 2 or more years in a senior-level role.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and lease accounting under ASC 842.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong organizational, time-management, communication, and independent working skills.
• Experience in shared services or corporate accounting environments; SOX experience is preferred.
