Software Engineering Leader (P&C Technology)

Location: Hybrid role requiring in-office presence two days per week in Scottsdale, Arizona; Des Moines, Iowa; or Columbus, Ohio. Candidates must live within commuting distance of one of these offices.

Salary: $118,000–$178,000 expected starting annual range; national range $118,000–$222,000.

What you will do

• Lead engineering practices across data platforms, pipelines, analytics, ML, and AI solutions.
• Coach data engineering and platform teams on Lean, agile, DevSecOps, DataOps, MLOps, and automation.
• Champion secure-by-design practices, data quality, observability, and governed enterprise data.
• Use delivery, quality, speed, and efficiency metrics to drive continuous improvement.
• Advise on technology team formation, capacity management, staffing, and team optimization.
• Manage the performance, development, hiring, training, and day-to-day leadership of five or more technology professionals.

Requirements

• Six or more years of technology engineering experience.
• Three or more years of management experience preferred.
• Proven experience leading teams in a matrixed environment and building an engaged workforce.
• Experience developing strong business partnerships; vendor management experience is preferred.
• Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, mathematics, or a related field are strongly preferred.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States; employer-sponsored work authorization and STEM OPT extension are not available.

Nice to have

• Experience leading cloud data platforms, pipelines, or analytics and ML solutions.
• Familiarity with modern data tooling and data governance in a regulated environment.
• Insurance or financial services industry knowledge.
• Certified ScrumMaster, Certified Agile Leader, AWS Practitioner, or related certification.
