Software Engineer Co-op

Location: Boston, MA; must work on-site at the Charlestown office at least 3 days per week, with a preference for 5 days in the office

Compensation: 30–35 USD per hour

hirify.global develops shipment-monitoring technology that helps supply-chain customers reduce delays, rejected loads, theft, damage, and spoilage.

What you will do

• Collaborate with software engineers, product owners, and QA testers to design, develop, and implement product features.
• Write clean, maintainable, and documented code across the software stack under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Participate in stand-ups, sprint planning, code reviews, and retrospechirify.globals within an Agile Scrum team.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects.
• Create and execute unit and integration tests to support software quality.
• Contribute to technical documentation and apply version control, code review, and continuous integration practices.

Requirements

• Strong desire to learn and collaborate, with strong abstraction and design skills.
• Understanding of data modeling and relational databases.
• Proficiency with server-side languages such as C# and Python.
• Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Familiarity with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
• Ability to work on-site in Boston at least 3 days per week and collaborate with coworkers in other time zones.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS hosting environments, DevOps, Docker, or Kubernetes.
• Experience with AWS Kinesis or Apache Kafka.
• Knowledge of Angular or React.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies such as Scrum.
• Experience troubleshooting customer issues with Customer Success teams.
