React/Node Developer Intern

Location: Hybrid in Reston, Virginia; must commute to the office at least 2 days per week. US citizenship required.

Salary: $21–$30 per hour

What you will do

• Develop government web pages using JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML/CSS, and React.
• Analyze system issues reported by end users, research code, identify root causes, and implement solutions.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
• Conduct external software testing and write and maintain user guide documentation.
• Collaborate with other interns on a technical project and present the results to the executive team.
• Attend corporate meetings covering business development, finance, and project management.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field as a rising junior or senior.
• Experience with React UI, Node.js, and AWS Cloud Tools.
• Ability to understand complex business processes, research problems, determine root causes, and recommend solutions.
• Strong written and verbal communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly and solve complex software challenges.
• Must be a US citizen and able to obtain a public trust clearance or higher as required.

Nice to have

• Rising senior status.
• Experience with Jest, React Testing Library, Mocha, Chai, Sinon, AWS Lambda, SPA libraries, or Java.
• Experience with Agile and DevOps tools such as Git, Jenkins, Maven, Ansible, and JUnit.
• Knowledge of SQL, relational databases, PostgreSQL, or DynamoDB.
