What you will do

• Act as the First Line of Defence subject matter expert for private-side business risk, operational risk, resilience risk and model risk across Global Markets.
• Develop, maintain and enhance the Global Markets risk and control framework in line with risk appetite, regulatory expectations and governance standards.
• Lead Risk and Control Self-Assessments, risk event management, issue management, attestations and governance actions.
• Monitor control effectiveness, challenge weaknesses, perform root-cause analysis and drive sustainable remediation.
• Oversee audit, regulatory and risk actions, including evidence, governance, traceability and closure.
• Provide governance for private-side activities and model governance while partnering with Front Office, Technology, Operations, Risk, Compliance and Audit.

Requirements

• Experience in First Line Global Markets Risk and Controls or a COO function.
• Strong understanding of Global Markets products, including Sales, Trading and Financing, as well as front-to-back trading processes and non-financial risks.
• Knowledge of regulatory expectations affecting Global Markets, including Model Risk requirements.
• Experience managing audit findings, regulatory actions, risk events and remediation programmes.
• Strong stakeholder management, influencing and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Self-motivated, proactive and focused on continuous improvement.
