Software Developer Intern/Co-op, Backend (Winter 2027) (Fintech)

Location: Toronto, ON, Canada; in-person attendance is expected at least 3 days per week

What you will do

• Own a high-impact backend project from initial scoping through production launch.
• Design, build, test, and release software for a live financial platform.
• Work with a dedicated mentor throughout onboarding and delivery.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve organization-wide technical problems.
• Maintain and scale backend services, infrastructure, data systems, and existing codebases.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a full-time, degree-seeking program with expected graduation in Winter 2027 or Spring 2028.
• Strong computer science fundamentals and understanding of coding best practices.
• Prior software development experience from internships, hackathons, or personal projects.
• Familiarity with Python/Django or Go, plus relational databases and transactions.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to drive projects in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment.
• Interest in financial technology and building fintech products and services.
