Principal Field Application Engineer (RISC-V)

Location: Shanghai, China. The role requires being in front of customers and travelling 25% of the time. Candidates must have the right to work in China.

What you will do

• Own and drive pre-sales technical engagements with current and prospective customers.
• Lead customer evaluations, product demonstrations, benchmarks, PPA analysis, and FPGA bring-up activities.
• Work with the Sales team and take technical ownership of the sales process.
• Interpret customer requirements and propose solutions for RISC-V CPU and SoC designs.
• Represent the customer internally by communicating detailed technical requirements to stakeholders.
• Support webinars, blog posts, application notes, and trade shows.

Requirements

• BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science and 5+ years of industry experience.
• In-depth working knowledge of CPU architecture and SoC architecture.
• Hands-on experience with hardware development or software development, including RTL and implementation flows, verification, FPGA flows, C, assembly, operating systems, RTOS, IDEs, compilers, or debuggers.
• Track record of successful customer engagements and the ability to work independently and take ownership.
• Willingness to travel and be in front of customers 25% of the time.
• Successful background and reference checks, the right to work in China, and authorization to access export-controlled technology are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with ARM, MIPS, or RISC-V CPU IP.
• Experience with automotive safety and FuSA development or deployment methodologies.
• Prior customer-facing support or pre-sales experience.
