GIS Migration Consultant

What you will do

• Analyze legacy GIS data structures, including object catalogs, attributes, and relationships.
• Develop repeatable data migration setups, scripts, and database queries using Python and SQL.
• Automate and perform the migration of geographic data and metadata into new GIS platforms such as ArcGIS Pro.
• Check data integrity, completeness, consistency, and quality after migration.
• Implement data cleansing, corrections, reporting, and documentation for migration workflows.
• Coordinate with business and functional departments to validate results and optimize the migration process.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with Python and SQL for migration scripts and database queries.
• Experience with databases, database structures, and data models.
• Practical experience with data migration and data transformation, preferably involving geographic or spatial data.
• Experience working with GIS systems.
• Analytical, structured, and process-oriented approach with strong programming skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with ArcGIS Pro or comparable GIS platforms.
• Experience with geospatial data migration, data quality management, cleansing, and validation.
• Experience documenting and optimizing automated migration workflows.
