Head of Licensing (Animation)

Location: Multiple countries, with opportunities for remote work. Relocation assistance is available for workers wishing to move to Australia.

Independent Australian animation studio creating original long-form animated shows for YouTube and developing entertainment IP into major franchises.

What you will do

• Develop global licensing strategies and roadmaps for Glitch's animated IP portfolio.
• Build and lead the licensing team, defining its structure, capabilities, hiring priorities, and workflows.
• Oversee licensing agreements across merchandise, physical activations, digital goods, collaborations, and other categories.
• Build long-term relationships with licensees, retailers, collaborators, and strategic partners.
• Evaluate licensing opportunities, commercial terms, partner performance, renewals, and revenue growth.
• Coordinate with Brand, Events, Marketing, Legal, Finance, Product, Consumer Products, and Sales teams.

Requirements

• Significant leadership experience in licensing, franchise management, or a closely related field.
• Experience representing IP-based licensors and building licensee portfolios in merchandise, character, entertainment, or brand licensing.
• Experience scaling a licensing function or team, including organisational design, recruitment, and accountability.
• Proven ability to develop licensing strategies, roadmaps, partner development programs, and scalable reporting processes.
• Experience working with major retailers or significant licensing partners.
• Strong understanding of royalty structures, minimum guarantees, advances, territories, distribution, category rights, and other licensing terms.
