Staff Software Engineer (Legal Tech)

Location: Kraków, Poland; hybrid

Salary: PLN 340,000–510,000, plus annual performance bonus and long-term incentives

What you will do

• Design, implement, and own distributed, scalable, secure full-stack cloud services processing petabytes of data weekly.
• Resolve complex technical and business problems across organizational boundaries through architecture, collaboration, and hands-on implementation.
• Provide technical direction across frontend, backend, and data layers while collaborating on system design and architecture.
• Build AI-powered legal data solutions operating at massive scale.
• Drive engineering standards for performance, scalability, reliability, and security through reviews, best practices, and documented standards.
• Mentor senior and lead engineers while aligning technical execution with product strategy and delivery commitments.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience designing, building, and operating complex cloud-native distributed systems.
• Demonstrated technical leadership across multiple teams or domains.
• Strong expertise in architecture, security, and reliability at scale.
• Ability to define technical direction, drive cross-team alignment, and influence without formal authority.
• Strong mentorship, technical communication, problem-solving, and system design skills.

Nice to have

• Experience shaping data platforms or UI standards.
• Experience in global or highly distributed organizations and regulated or large-scale environments.
• Experience driving organization-wide technical improvements.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Claude Code.
