TL;DR
Industrial Engineer (Medical Devices) (Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma): Deploying manufacturing performance systems and optimizing production workflows, layouts, sequencing, and assembly operations for medical device manufacturing with an accent on throughput, equipment utilization, labor efficiency, and GMP compliance. Focus on building capacity and line-balancing models, analyzing SAP and Power BI data, and applying DMAIC, SPC, CAD, and continuous improvement methods.

Location: Dexter, Michigan, United States. Relocation assistance is not available.

Salary: $98,500–$121,200 per year

What you will do

  • Deploy the hirify.global Performance System across manufacturing operations, including strategy, value stream, innovation, quality, maintenance excellence, Zero Loss, and EHS performance systems.
  • Analyze and optimize manufacturing workflows, production layouts, operation sequencing, throughput, equipment utilization, and labor efficiency.
  • Develop tiered visual management systems, escalation processes, manufacturing flow, assembly operations, standardized work, value stream maps, labor-balancing models, and one-piece-flow transitions.
  • Extract manufacturing data from SAP ERP and create analytical reports and dashboards in Power BI.
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing, Toyota Production System, Six Sigma, DMAIC, 8D, Kanban, JIT, PDCA, 5 Why, DFM, DFA, FMEA, and SPC methods to improve processes.
  • Develop capacity-planning and line-balancing simulations using CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Pro/ENGINEER (Creo), or AutoCAD.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering.
  • At least one year of experience as an industrial or manufacturing engineer in medical devices.
  • At least one year of experience with DMAIC and Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing and TPS, standardized work, process mapping, and value stream mapping.
  • At least one year of experience with DOE, regression analysis, SPC, capacity planning, line balancing, simulations, 8D, Kanban, JIT, DFM, FMEA, and One Piece Flow Cell.
  • Experience with SAP, SolidWorks, Pro/ENGINEER (Creo), and/or AutoCAD.
  • Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification required.
