TL;DR
Intern - Technologist, Hardware Development Engineering (Studying Ph.D Degree) (AI/ML): Supporting machining and lapping process development for next-generation wafer technologies with an accent on modeling, simulation, data analytics, and AI/ML. Focus on developing engineering tools and algorithms, analyzing process and equipment data, and conducting experimental design and root cause investigations.

Location: On-site at Bangpa-in, Ayutthaya, Thailand

Develops storage systems and manufacturing infrastructure for AI-driven data platforms, hyperscale data centers, cloud platforms, and enterprise infrastructure.

What you will do

  • Support machining and lapping process development for next-generation wafer technologies.
  • Develop modeling and simulation methods to understand process behavior.
  • Analyze process and equipment data using statistical and AI/ML techniques.
  • Assist with software tools, algorithms, and engineering analytics solutions.
  • Support experimental design, process characterization, and root cause investigations.
  • Collaborate with process, equipment, software, and data engineering teams; document and present technical findings.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Data Science, or an equivalent field.
  • Internship commitment of at least 4 months and on-site availability in Bangpa-in, Ayutthaya.
  • Experience with modeling, simulation, data analysis, or computational research.
  • Experience with AI/ML, data analytics, or predictive modeling.
  • Programming experience in Python, MATLAB, C/C++, or similar languages.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, teamwork, technical communication, and root cause analysis skills; strong written and verbal English communication.

Nice to have

  • Research experience in machining, lapping, precision engineering, manufacturing processes, or advanced materials.
  • Knowledge of Design of Experiments, statistical analysis, and process optimization.
  • Familiarity with sensor systems, automation, or hardware development.
