Development Scientist (Biotechnology)

Location: Chesterfield, Missouri, USA; candidates must be within a commutable distance and authorized to work indefinitely in the United States without restriction or sponsorship.

What you will do

• Develop and optimize processes for producing polysaccharide conjugate vaccines and other biologic products.
• Perform laboratory work, including reactions in small- and large-scale reactors and purification of large molecules.
• Monitor laboratory equipment and maintain a clean, safe, effective, and efficient working environment.
• Document laboratory activities and contribute to technical reports.
• Evaluate experimental data and communicate findings to cross-functional teams in written and oral formats.
• Support manufacturing campaigns through laboratory experiments and troubleshooting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical or biomedical engineering, biology, chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology, microbiology, or a related field.
• 0–3 years of experience in a biochemical or chemical laboratory environment.
• Experience with reactor-scale reactions and purification using ultrafiltration-diafiltration or column chromatography.
• Familiarity with cGLP and cGMP requirements; experience with polysaccharide or antibody conjugation is desirable.
• Strong written and oral communication, organization, attention to detail, and teamwork skills.
• Indefinite US work authorization without sponsorship is required.
