Technologist, Quality Assurance Engineering (Manufacturing)

Location: Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia; onsite at the Sarawak Kuching Office

What you will do

• Lead and align Quality organizations across the Johor and Sarawak substrate manufacturing sites.
• Drive quality improvement, reduce process variation, and improve outgoing product quality while meeting cost objectives.
• Review and approve quality controls, improvement plans, engineering change extensions, and management-system documentation.
• Reject inadequate 8D reports and non-compliant document approvals; stop shipments that fail defined quality standards.
• Plan resources, develop talent, and provide training for Quality teams across both sites.
• Report substrate quality performance to upper management and support crisis management, audits, certifications, and customer audits.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Science, or a related discipline.
• Strong leadership experience managing Quality or Process Engineering teams in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in supplier or contract manufacturer quality management and qualification activities.
• Hands-on expertise in corrective action management and structured 8D problem-solving.
• Ability to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, customer, corporate, and applicable management-system requirements.

Nice to have

• At least 8 years of experience in Quality and/or Process Engineering, including 3 years in a Quality leadership or management role.
• Knowledge or formal training in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 22301, RBA standards, SPC, FMEA, Six Sigma, statistical tools, and quality methodologies.
