QC Chemist I

Location: United States; nearest major market New Haven and nearest secondary market Hartford. The role involves laboratory and manufacturing-site duties.

Base salary: $71,822–$107,732 per year, plus a performance-related bonus plan.

What you will do

• Perform and support CVS analysis for electrochemical measurements, including instrument operation, electrode preparation, method execution, data evaluation, and troubleshooting.
• Test in-process and finished products, raw materials, and customer plating solutions.
• Maintain analytical records according to SOPs, data integrity requirements, and quality standards.
• Support method optimization, validation and verification, instrument qualification, and continuous improvement.
• Investigate atypical, unexpected, and out-of-specification results and collaborate with R&D, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, manage hazardous materials and waste, and follow applicable safety and quality standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or a related field and at least two years of laboratory experience.
• Proficiency in bench chemistry, manual titrations, and liquid-liquid extractions.
• Experience with analytical techniques including gravimetric analysis, TOC, viscosity, pH, and UV/Vis spectrophotometry.
• Hands-on experience with HPLC, including method execution, troubleshooting, and interpretation of chromatographic results.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts including probability, statistical inference, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
• Ability to follow IATF 16949, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, HSE, chemical hygiene, and 5S requirements.

Nice to have

• Previous experience with CVS and electrochemical analytical techniques, including electrode behavior and control parameters.
