Optometric Technician - Medical Assistant (Optical)

Location: 12725 Tamiami Trail East, Suite 133, Naples, FL 34113, United States. Onsite, full-time position.

What you will do

• Provide high-quality patient care and maintain a professional doctor’s office and pre-test room.
• Explain preliminary examinations and perform patient pre-screening and testing before the doctor’s examination.
• Promote visual field testing and retinal screenings for eligible patients.
• Review prescriptions and patient information, identify special needs, and consult with the optician, doctor, or retail management when needed.
• Complete referral and follow-up paperwork while maintaining accurate, organized patient records.
• Maintain examination equipment and manage supplies and pharmaceuticals as directed.

Requirements

• Strong customer service, interpersonal, organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills.
• Ability to learn optical knowledge and understand ocular terminology, diseases, and abbreviations.
• Ability to give customers clear and concise instructions.
• Detail-oriented approach to patient information, paperwork, and records.
• Previous retail or optical experience is preferred but not required.
