Optometric Technician - Medical Assistant - Part Time (Optical Healthcare)

Location: Charlotte, NC; onsite in an optical care and retail location.

What you will do

• Conduct patient pre-screenings and preliminary vision tests before the optometrist examination.
• Explain examination procedures and provide clear instructions to patients.
• Complete paperwork, review prescriptions and patient information, and identify special needs.
• Promote eligible visual field testing and retinal screenings.
• Maintain the doctor’s office, pre-test room, and examination equipment.
• Coordinate with the optician, doctor, and retail management when needed.

Requirements

• Previous retail or optical experience is preferred but not required; training is provided.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to learn optical terminology, diseases, and abbreviations.
• Clear and concise communication with customers.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, multitasking, and time-management skills.
• Professional attitude and appearance.
