Associate Scientist (LNP Formulation)

What you will do

• Support formulation optimization and process understanding for mRNA-containing lipid nanoparticle formulations and production processes.
• Assist with developing initial formulation processes for new LNP formulations and troubleshooting technical, formulation, and processing issues.
• Perform in-process drug product characterization and routine or complex analytical methods under guidance from senior scientists.
• Coordinate LNP characterization activities with the Analytical Sciences department.
• Document study setup, results, and conclusions in an electronic lab notebook and assist with data analysis and presentations.
• Help install and set up characterization and process equipment in new laboratories.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
• At least 2 years of experience in formulation, process development, or laboratory research; internship and academic laboratory experience are considered.
• Developing laboratory skills and foundational knowledge of formulation and process development.
• Ability to work collaboratively with scientists and contribute to ongoing drug product development projects.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline.
• Professional formulation or process development experience in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology environment.
• Familiarity with LNP production processes or analytical characterization techniques.
• Experience with electronic lab notebook systems.
