Quantum Computing/Cryptography Engineer

Location: 100% remote within the United States; candidates from California, Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, or Washington will not be considered. Occasional travel may be required.

What you will do

• Implement and test cryptographic algorithms using Python, C++, and Java.
• Develop quantum-resistant algorithm migration plans and post-quantum cryptography implementation strategies.
• Assess organizational cryptographic inventories and identify migration priorities.
• Communicate quantum risk to non-technical leadership and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Provide policy and guidance input for cryptographic modernization aligned with NIST PQC standards, including FIPS 203, 204, and 205.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required for this opportunity.
• Public Trust (MBI) eligibility or possession is required; the role may involve a government security investigation.
• 10+ years of IT experience, including 5 years in quantum computing and cryptography, or an applicable master's degree substitution for up to 2 years.
• Expertise in quantum mechanics, quantum algorithms, quantum information theory, post-quantum cryptography, cryptographic standards, and simulation tools.
• Experience with Qiskit, Cirq, Quipper, Microsoft Quantum Development Kit, and project-oriented configuration management.
• IAT III, IAM III, or IASAE III certification is required or preferred according to the applicable government requirements.
