Engineering Manager (AI)

Location: Must be based in the United States. Loop uses a blended working environment with teams across US hubs and selected locations in Canada, the United Kingdom, and Australia.

What you will do

• Lead and grow an autonomous, inclusive, high-performing engineering team through coaching, clear expectations, and thoughtful structure.
• Own the shipping and logistics domain, including carrier integrations, rate shopping, label generation, and supporting systems.
• Set technical direction, prioritize the backlog, manage delivery processes, and balance features, technical debt, support, and innovation.
• Champion AI agents for project planning, issue triage, and software development while reviewing AI-generated work rigorously.
• Partner with Product and Design on roadmap development, estimation, execution, and clear decision-making.
• Promote accountability, visibility, trust, healthy communication, test-driven development, SOLID principles, and sustainable delivery.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United States.
• At least 3 years of experience managing high-performing, product-focused software engineering teams.
• Recent hands-on software engineering experience with sufficient technical depth for architecture, mentoring, test-driven development, and scalable system design.
• Practical experience using AI agents as a default part of team workflows, with specific examples of improved output.
• Strong understanding of Agile and Scrum, with experience delivering high-quality software iteratively.
• Ability to balance priorities, manage stakeholders, make tradeoffs, and build trust through clear communication and consistent feedback.

Nice to have

• Experience in SaaS, startup, or ecommerce environments.
• Exposure to shipping, fulfillment, reverse logistics, or complex integrations.
