Frontend Accessibility Engineer (Vue)

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain accessible front-end components and user interfaces.
• Perform manual and automated accessibility testing with JAWS and other screen readers.
• Identify and remediate issues involving keyboard navigation, focus management, ARIA, color contrast, and semantic HTML.
• Conduct accessibility audits, document findings, and prepare compliance test reports.
• Collaborate with UX/UI designers, developers, product owners, QA, and DevOps to integrate accessibility into design and CI/CD delivery.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and communicate accessibility requirements and tradeoffs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph required.
• Front-end development experience with modern JavaScript frameworks, preferably Vue.
• Hands-on experience testing with screen readers and familiarity with assistive technologies.
• Strong knowledge of Section 508, WCAG 2.1/2.2 Levels A/AA, and ARIA authoring practices.
• Experience with semantic HTML, accessible forms, keyboard navigation, focus management, accessibility auditing tools, and Git.
• Experience with Agile collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence.

Nice to have

• Experience producing VPATs or Accessibility Conformance Reports for federal agencies.
• Experience integrating automated accessibility checks into CI/CD pipelines, including GitLab CI/CD.
• Experience with Cypress or similar automated UI and accessibility testing tools.
• Familiarity with AWS cloud architecture and deployment.
• Knowledge of government agency reporting and dissemination policies.
