Front-End Developer (Accessibility)

Location: Annapolis Junction, Maryland, United States; hybrid with partial telework

Salary: $150,000–$270,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain front-end components and interfaces for the RAD system.
• Ensure interfaces conform to Section 508 and WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA standards.
• Perform manual and automated accessibility testing with JAWS and other assistive technologies.
• Identify and remediate issues involving keyboard navigation, focus management, ARIA, color contrast, and semantic HTML.
• Document audit findings and produce accessibility test reports for agency compliance.
• Collaborate with UX/UI, engineering, product, QA, and DevOps teams in Agile ceremonies and integrate automated testing into CI/CD.

Requirements

• Current Top-Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph is required; clearance sponsorship or nomination is not available.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or four years of equivalent software engineering experience.
• Front-end development experience with modern JavaScript frameworks, preferably Vue.
• Hands-on JAWS testing experience and familiarity with other assistive technologies.
• Strong knowledge of Section 508, WCAG 2.1/2.2 Levels A/AA, ARIA authoring practices, semantic HTML, accessible forms, keyboard navigation, and focus management.
• Experience with accessibility auditing tools, Git, Jira, and Confluence.

Nice to have

• Experience producing VPATs or Accessibility Conformance Reports for federal agencies.
• Experience integrating automated accessibility checks into CI/CD pipelines, including GitLab CI/CD.
• Experience with Cypress or similar automated UI and accessibility testing tools.
• Familiarity with AWS, cloud deployment, and government reporting policies.
