Frontend Software Engineer (JavaScript)

Location: Hybrid in Maryland, United States, with an average of 2–3 days per week at the Columbia, MD office.

Salary: $100,163–$152,103 USD per year

What you will do

• Assist with creating, enhancing, and maintaining web applications for a Data Lake/Warehouse.
• Develop, review, and maintain JavaScript, CSS, and HTML code.
• Collaborate with designers, backend engineers, and data scientists to build cohesive user experiences.
• Define and interact with REST-based APIs.
• Troubleshoot customer-reported application issues and provide support.
• Write unit tests and perform quality assurance testing.

Requirements

• Active Top Secret U.S. Government Security Clearance required.
• Five years of frontend software development or engineering experience with a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field; equivalent alternatives include three years of relevant experience with a master’s degree or nine years with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Five years of JavaScript experience and experience with one or more web application frameworks such as Vue, React, Angular, or Backbone.
• Familiarity with Git or other version control software and comfort working on a Unix-like command line.
• Self-motivation, multitasking, issue prioritization, and strong problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to work in a hybrid environment at the Columbia, Maryland office.

Nice to have

• Previous experience with a Data Lake/Warehouse.
• DoD 8140/8570 compliance certifications.
