Head of Engineering (AI/SaaS): Leading the organizational and technical evolution of a mature, high-traffic SEO SaaS platform with an accent on AI-native engineering, end-to-end ownership, and platform scalability. Focus on shaping the technical roadmap, improving engineering efficiency, developing autonomous teams, and balancing technical sustainability with product delivery.
Location: Fully remote, with an optional Nuremberg office and preferred working hours within ±2 hours of CET.

What you will do
- Lead the organizational and technical evolution of a mature, high-traffic SEO SaaS platform.
- Guide the transition from functional frontend/backend teams to end-to-end ownership and outcome-focused execution.
- Drive adoption of AI-native engineering practices to improve engineering efficiency.
- Own and co-create the technical vision and roadmap, balancing technical debt reduction with product innovation.
- Ensure the data-heavy platform remains fast, reliable, secure, scalable, and compliant with GDPR and data privacy requirements.
- Partner with the CEO, Product leadership, Tech Leads, and the central platform team on strategy, DevOps, and infrastructure.
Requirements
- Proven experience leading engineering teams in high-scale production environments.
- Strong technical credibility in architecture and system design, ideally across PHP, Laravel, Vue, and cloud infrastructure.
- Forward-thinking approach to using AI for product capabilities and engineering productivity.
- Strong product sense and ability to prioritize engineering work by customer value and business impact.
- Experience leading organizational change, building alignment, and enabling autonomous decision-making.
- Fluent English is required.

- German language skills.
- Understanding of SEO-related web technologies, including websites, crawling, indexing, and content analysis.
