TL;DR
Senior Developer (Go) (social care software): Maintaining and evolving the Empower API while migrating legacy PHP Symfony functionality to a modern Go backend and building a Vue.js front end, with an accent on interoperability, automated testing, and cloud infrastructure. Focus on designing scalable API services, analysing system logs and metrics, supporting integrations, and mentoring engineers through a complex platform transition.
Location: Bristol, Bournemouth, or Bridgwater in the United Kingdom; Kraków in Poland; or remote, with monthly travel to Bournemouth if not based in Kraków.

What you will do
- Maintain, build, and improve the Empower API.
- Lead or contribute to the migration of legacy PHP Symfony functionality to Go.
- Build the new Vue front end as part of the migration from the existing Drupal application.
- Deliver software improvements within an Agile team and contribute to sprint goals.
- Analyse logs and metrics, improve system performance, and support partners in using the APIs effectively.
- Diagnose client issues, conduct code reviews, and mentor team members through knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Significant commercial full-stack development experience, typically 5+ years.
- Commercial experience with Go and Vue or React, plus familiarity with PHP or Symfony.
- Commercial familiarity with at least three AWS services, Git, Linux command line, SQL databases, and unit testing.
- Experience working in an Agile team using Scrum or Kanban, plus experience with at least one additional programming language.
- Daily experience using AI coding tools and an interest in improving interoperability in the UK social care sector.
- Ability to work from the listed United Kingdom or Poland locations; remote employees must travel to Bournemouth monthly unless based in Kraków.
