TL;DR
Software Engineer (Python/Data Pipelines): Building and improving backend services, data pipelines, APIs, and user-facing application features for a platform that consolidates disparate data sources with an accent on large-scale data processing, reliability, and maintainable code. Focus on designing ETL workflows, debugging production systems, supporting high availability, and collaborating with product, engineering, analytics, and data science teams.

What you will do
- Develop, maintain, and enhance backend services, data pipelines, APIs, and user-facing application features.
- Build data processing, transformation, and integration workflows using Python.
- Contribute to technical design discussions, code reviews, testing, deployment, monitoring, and operational improvements.
- Investigate and debug development and production issues using logs, metrics, and debugging tools.
- Support system reliability, performance, and high availability.
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, analysts, and data scientists while maintaining technical documentation.
Requirements
- Experience with Python for data processing, transformation, or integration workflows.
- Understanding of data integration and ETL principles, including batch, asynchronous, or streaming processing.
- Experience with SQL, relational databases, APIs, and backend services.
- Knowledge of Git, code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, and containerisation technologies such as Docker.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues, communicate blockers, and contribute to reliable production operations.
- Fluent written and spoken English and effective cross-functional collaboration skills.
Nice to have
- Experience with Node.js, Scala, Java, or another JVM-based language.
- Exposure to Vue.js with TypeScript or JavaScript.
- Experience with AWS or another major cloud provider.
- Familiarity with Kafka or another message-broker or event-streaming technology.
- Exposure to Elasticsearch or another search and indexing technology.
