Network Engineer (Secure Services)

Location: Bristol, Chippenham and Reading, UK; travel between customer sites and overnight stays may be required.

What you will do

• Install, maintain and repair secure voice and data services for DFTS customers.
• Respond to service faults and restore customer connections safely and quickly.
• Complete planned work in line with agreed standards, timescales and safety requirements.
• Collaborate with customers, colleagues and support teams to resolve issues effectively.
• Maintain accurate records of completed work, materials and service updates.
• Travel between customer sites and participate in on-call, out-of-hours and overtime support when required.

Requirements

• Experience installing, maintaining or repairing voice, data or network services.
• Ability to work safely, follow agreed processes and resolve customer service issues.
• Ability to comply with security, compliance and site-access procedures.
• Flexibility to travel and stay away from home overnight when required.
• Availability for out-of-hours support, on-call work and overtime.

Nice to have

• Experience in secure, regulated or customer-sensitive environments.
• Knowledge of copper, fibre, Ethernet or IP-based services.
• Experience using test equipment to diagnose and fix service faults.
• Strong communication, planning, prioritisation and record-keeping skills.
• Willingness to learn new tools, systems and ways of working.
