Staff Accountant, Fleet and Logistics - Columbia, MD

Location: Columbia, Maryland, USA; candidates must reside in the US and have valid US work authorization.

Salary: $76,000–$102,000 total annual compensation

What you will do

• Record, reconcile, and maintain fleet asset acquisitions, disposals, depreciation, vehicle costs, and related vendor invoices.
• Support lease-versus-buy analysis, expense reporting, fleet budgets, variance reports, and forecasting.
• Reconcile inventory between ERP and warehouse records, investigate discrepancies, and record adjustments, write-downs, and transfers under GAAP.
• Prepare journal entries and general ledger reconciliations for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close.
• Assist with financial statements, management reporting, audit requests, and accounting process improvements.
• Administer corporate credit card and Concur expense reporting programs and ensure policy compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• At least 2 years of accounting experience, including exposure to fleet accounting, fixed assets, or inventory management.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, complex formulas, and data modeling.
• Knowledge of GAAP and standard accounting principles, with experience using SAP FI, CO, and/or MM modules.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and deadline-management skills.
• Must reside in the US and have valid US work authorization.

Nice to have

• CPA candidacy or active pursuit of CPA licensure.
• Experience with Power Query, Power BI, or other data visualization tools.
